Truck Ceramic Coatings: Are They Worth It? | Visual Pro Detailing Benton, IL
I just purchased a brand new truck. Is a Ceramic Coating Worth it?

So, you just purchased that brand new truck. Congratulations!
Over the last couple of years I've heard this statement more and more often: I'm going to keep this for a very, very long time. These trucks are not getting less expensive, that's for sure!
As the prices go up, so does the duration of ownership. It's a real deal investment to have a truck now.
Which is why so many customers go the route of ceramic. The paint on your new truck (not to mention the trim, wheels, glass) is alone the single most expensive component of the entire vehicle.
If you are planning to keep it looking great for years to come, an investment in protecting it once for all time has been something my customers have not even thought twice about.
What are some of the benefits if I ceramic coat my new truck, what will actually happen?
Many advantages of ceramic coatings:
- Your vehicle will be easier to clean
- No more waxing 2-4 times a year
- It's cost effective
- An extra layer of hardened protection
- Ceramic coatings repel mud, dirt and water
- Keeps your vehicle looking new for years
- UV protection to prevent fading and loss of shine
- Makes removing bugs simple and fast change
- Coating makes cleaning faster and easier
Sounds awesome? Well, watch this quick video we did about a ceramic coating process on this new-to-the-customer Denali.
What about pricing?
How much does a ceramic coating cost on a truck?
Well, depending on your market, what level of paint polishing the detailer is going to perform before the ceramic coating, the color of your truck, and the type of coating that is being applied it can vary greatly.
If anyone is putting a professional grade ceramic coating on your truck and completely preparing the surface ahead of time for less than $1,000 I would be somewhat suspicious. Get references, do your homework, and look at plenty of online reviews. There is a huge time involvement and product cost for these types of services.
I would safely say to expect to pay between $1500 - $2500 for this type of service on a full size truck. Again, where you live in the country, the experience of the detailer, and the level of coating application will vary this price greatly across the country. There is no one size fits all pricing, but any detailer will likely be happy to give you a quote for your particular truck.
